Sometimes when bands move from demo to first release, they lose something: not as fast or not as evil or too produced. This album is not one of them. The recording is cleaner, so you can hear things better than _Rise of Death_ but otherwise, this has the same black thrash from the speed layer of the Abyss sound. Highly recommended for fans of Shakma, Nuclear Revenge, early Kreator, or Gallower. Several horns way up.

Recollections of the Insane

This album rips, chugs and sizzles. There's many bands that play this style generally, but these guys stand out to me as being among the better ones that do it. Nice technical wizardry and powerful pummeling, but also with some hooks that cling to you, as well as some cool varied bits and interludes here and there that prevent it from being just 'regular' deathrash. A couple records in and I'm sold.
